Do You Have A License For That Dog?
Did you know that in Sacramento County, according to the County Code, all persons owning or having a dog - or even a cat for that matter - must have a license for their pets? Of course, you will have to pay a fee to get the license.
If you want to learn more about how to get a license for your pet, see here.
By the way, for people who let their dogs run wild, according to Code 8.08.050, no dog owner shall let their dog be "at large," which means letting it be off of the owner's premises roaming around, or not under a physical restraint.
I guess that means my neighbors are not supposed to let their dogs out to poop on my lawn?
Here's the answer: According to County Code section 8.08.056, "Dogs at Large," no person shall
permit a dog to stray from private property unless the dog is restrained by a leash or lead not exceeding eight feet in length.
Want to make a complaint? Here is the link. For other nonviolent and nonemergency situations you can contact one of these County service centers.
